Spotted at a Romney rally in Ohio…
Man in t-shirt reading “Put The White Back In The White House.”
Kinda speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

The voter purges have resulted in roughly 60% of black voters in that city no longer being registered. That’s 41% of the city’s total votes in 2008. Some perspective on it from reddit user BiscuitCrisps:
You know, back when I lived in a majority-black voter ward, I got purged from the voter rollsevery single year. And every year, I had to trudge back to the registrar of voters, and show them a driver’s license and two months of utility bills to prove that I still lived where I was registered. It’s why I didn’t vote from 1999-2001. I just got sick of re-proving my residence over and over.
My first reaction was: “Fucking incompetent bureaucratic machine”
Then, I moved to a majority-white voter ward … I registeredonce. I haven’t been purged once in the past seven years.
I used to say: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity”.
I’m now inclined to chalk the purging up to malice.
This whole thing is fucked.

Don’t let them get away with it.

1. Obama already released his birth certificate, so Castellanos has no legitimate complaint and is just pandering to racists at this point.
2. How is it even possible to release 10 years of birth certificates? Does Castellanos think Obama was born 10 times?
(via dendroica)
Castellanos is an old hand at political attacks. And his loyalty is strictly purchased. He worked for the Bush re-election in 2004, then for Romney in 2008, advising Romney to separate himself from GWB by focusing on “intelligence.”

And maybe peas. I’ve met a lot of two-year-old kids who hate peas.

On a related note, this was overheard at a Tea Party rally this weekend: Ozark Tea Party board member Inge Marler considers this joke an “ice breaker:”
A black kid asks his mom, ‘Mama, what’s a democracy?’
‘Well, son, that be when white folks work every day so us po’ folks can get all our benefits.’
‘But mama, don’t the white folk get mad about that?’
‘They sho do, son. They sho do. And that’s called racism.’
After her joke was reported, Marler told the Baxter Bulletin she’d stop using it. Audio of the speech can be heard here.
Just for the record: More white people are on welfare than black people.

President Obama barely eked out Democratic primary wins in the Crackerbelt (Kentucky and Arkansas) – The president didn’t even have an opponent in Kentucky, but took just 57.9% of the vote, with the remaining more than 42 percent of ballots cast for “uncommitted.” In Arkansas, his unknown opponent, John Wolfe (D), won 41% of the vote. — Politico
In a column for the white nationalist site VDARE.com, John Derbyshire (who was fired from National Review recently) offers unqualified praise for white supremacy: […] Leaving aside the intended malice, I actually think “White Supremacist” is not bad semantically. White supremacy, in the sense of a society in which key decisions are made by white Europeans, is one of the better arrangements History has come up with. There have of course been some blots on the record, but I don’t see how it can be denied that net-net, white Europeans have made a better job of running fair and stable societies than has any other group. As a reminder, this man who now openly praises a racial caste system wrote for one of the nation’s top conservative publications for nearly 12 years. – Think Progress |
Note: he’s right about one thing: a society run by white Europeans IS one of the better arrangements for white Europeans – just not anyone else.

ROMNEY CAN DOG-WHISTLE WITH THE BEST OF THEM.
Romney appeared on stage in front of this official campaign banner: See, there’s a very racist stereotype about black people being “lazy and shiftless,” and another one that has to do with “welfare queens” who don’t want to work. So when you create a disgusting slogan like this one, it serves as a dog-whistle, stoking white racist anger while also offending every black person in the country. Yeah, it was probably intentional. The Republican Party’s use of theSouthern Strategy is well-documented and verified by actual Republican leaders.

MICHELE BACHMANN accuses President Obama of ‘waving a tar baby in the air’ – ”This is just about waving a tar baby in the air and saying that something else is a problem,” Bachmann told Florida-based conservative news organization Shark Tank on Wednesday. “I have never seen a more irresponsible president who is infantile in the way that he continually blames everyone else for his failure to first diagnose the problem and second to address the problem. It’s always everyone else’s fault,” the Tea Party darling added. The term originates from the “Uncle Remus” stories, in which a doll made of tar and turpentine is used to snare Br’er Rabbit. While “tar baby” is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as “something from which it is nearly impossible to extricate oneself,” it has long been recognized as a derogatory term for African Americans.
Some funny commentary about the racist Obama bumper sticker currently circulating:
Just another proud exercise of First Amendment rights: To be fair, I’m sure these aren’t quite the words Mitt Romney would have used, Bill Maher said something racist once, and liberals criticized George Bush.
Yep. That covers all the typical arguments from the slimy depths of the rightwing psyche. BOTH SIDES DO IT!

ANTI-OBAMA RACISM IS REAL - A photograph of a bumper sticker that features racist, anti-Obama language has gone viral on Facebook and other social networks. The sticker reads “Don’t Re-Nig In 2012,” in large white type, above smaller text that reads: “Stop repeat offenders. Don’t re-elect Obama!” The offensive design appears to have originated at a site called Stumpy’s Stickers, where it can be purchased. The site sells variations on the same idea, including another “Don’t Re-Nig” design featuring a caricature of a black man’s face with a missing tooth, a picture of a chimp that reads “Obama 2012,” and another with a drawing of several Ku Klux Klan members that reads “The Original Boys In The Hood.”
President Obama releases his LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE:
Of course everyone already knows the long form birth certificate the birthers have been screaming for won’t be good enough either. The racists Teaparty Republican Birthers and their Birther King (Trump) will now ask for video footage of the birth. Or a ‘circumcision certificate.’ OR A FUNCTIONAL TIME MACHINE so that they may return to Hawaii on August 4, 1961 at 7:24 PM to view the birth personally. What? You can’t give us a time machine? Obviously born in Kenya!
The FSU College Republicans hosted an affirmative action bake sale to show how discriminatory the policy is.
Just as educational institutions (and even some employers) split their applicants up and give them different advantages or disadvantages based solely on the color of their skin, we did the same. We gave full cookies to blacks and Hispanics, half cookies to whites and quarter cookies to Asians.
The protest went off without a hitch, save the occasional expletive-infused attack by campus liberals. SGA and the University didn’t get involved, which is good considering these types of events have been shut down by liberal administrations throughout the country.
We had many respectful and logical debates and changed a lot of people’s minds with the literature we gave out. I’ll post a copy of that sheet when I get it back.
Anyway, here are a few pictures that I promised I’d put up. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get any of myself. Nonetheless, you get the idea.
Jaw-dropping.
The image of a bunch of self-satisfied white kids handing a Black person a cookie and screaming “I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY NOW!!!” is probably a lot more evocative than they realize.
….
utmb: When racism no longer exists, we won’t need affirmative action. Until then …well, the Tea Party can easily demonstrate why there may still be a need:

But, according to them, they’re NOT RACIST! In fact, I’d bet these people feel they “had many respectful and logical debates and changed a lot of people’s minds” during their demonstrations as well.
