White House sand castle built to pay tribute to upcoming Republican convention

The resort is also constructing sand sculptures of Abraham Lincoln & the Lincoln Memorial to coincide with the Republican National Convention, which starts in Tampa, Fla., next week.
Let’s hope this is as close as Mitt Romney gets to a White House.

WHITE HOUSE: COLLEGES MUST COVER BIRTH CONTROL FOR STUDENTS - The Health and Human Services Department said student health plans will be treated like employees’ plans, meaning they will have to comply with new requirements under healthcare reform — including the requirement to provide contraception without charging a copay. The contraception mandate has sparked intense criticism from some religious groups and Republican lawmakers. They say it violates employers’ religious freedoms by forcing them to provide a service they find immoral. Religious universities will treat their student plans the same as their employees’ plans, administration officials said Friday. That means they will not have to directly offer contraception in their plans, but students and workers will be able to get birth control from their insurance companies without a copay.

This Bill would allow essentially allow A Great Firewall of America and would be a shameful desecration of free speech and any sort of reasonable copyright law. The new Law would allow copyright holders to force websites which have any copyrighted material to be blocked by ISP companies around the country, without requiring that the websites be given time to take the offending material down. It would also put pressure on ISP companies to monitor their users like never before, a gross invasion of privacy. This bill is a direct assault on a free internet and a shameful attempt by copyright lobbyists to destroy net neutrality. Essentially it’s a censorship law that would end the internet as we know it in America.
There are a little over 19,000 signatures so far…
Congress is holding hearings on this bill today. Tell them no.

To all the Birthers: Where’s your God now?
President Obama releases his LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE:
Of course everyone already knows the long form birth certificate the birthers have been screaming for won’t be good enough either. The racists Teaparty Republican Birthers and their Birther King (Trump) will now ask for video footage of the birth. Or a ‘circumcision certificate.’ OR A FUNCTIONAL TIME MACHINE so that they may return to Hawaii on August 4, 1961 at 7:24 PM to view the birth personally. What? You can’t give us a time machine? Obviously born in Kenya!

I really like the idea of Politifact fact-checking politicians, but now they are really going in over their head… They are going to need to hire about 1,000 new researchers if they are going to start fact-checking wingnut blogs and even make a dent. Half those researchers could work nonstop fact-checking just Malkin and Hot Air.
